cameron and meghan { just married } | oregon wedding photographer

i must start by saying that cameron is my much younger cousin… and to me he is still that little boy. so him getting married, and this wedding was pretty surreal for me.  from the moment cameron was born i was in absolute love with him, but as i got older i then chose to torment him, instead of snuggle him. { gotta love getting older } im so happy that he has met such a beautiful, sweet and loving person to call his best friend and his wife, meghan is a true blessing for him.

their very intimate and quaint wedding ceremony was held at linfield college where they met in college. linfield is also where my unlce david went and played quarterback for their football team. he has since passed away, and linfield football field is where we spread his ashes.. so for me i had an overwhelming feeling of comfort knowing he was at the wedding as well.{ miss you uncle david }

this is only a little bit of the wedding .. i will be adding more as i get them edited. but wanted to surprise my family with some of the shots i took today. congrats cam and meghan… it was an absolute perfect day…

i heart faces weekly challenge | from a distance

i have been too swamped the last few weeks to submit a photo to the i heart faces weekly challenges.  but this i made the effort to get one in this week, and i love this weeks theme!  usually the entries have to have a face clearly showing, but this week the theme is ” from a distance”… so for this week only, a face does not have to be clearly showing in the entry. they are only requiring that a person be visible in your photo entry somewhere ♥  it was an easy decision which image to enter…  i simply adore this story telling photo of a “superhero”.

eugene oregon photographer | canfield family

This session is actually from last summer… I’ve been working on their order for the past 3 days now, only to be reminded how much i loved this day. The mom Emily Drew Canfield, who lives in Bend Oregon, contacted me about possibly a photo session at their family cabin at the lake of the woods, also telling me that she herself was a professional photographer.(who is back in school to change her profession) eeeeeekk.. THINK JOLYN!!!  do i make the 4 hour drive to photograph this family?? or do i kindly turn the job down, avoiding any chance that my work wouldn’t be good enough for her?? well.. if you know me, you know i love a good challenge, not to mention my job. So the session was officially booked.  And let me tell you, i am so glad i made the long trip to photograph the Canfield family.  Like i mentioned before Emily was a very talented professional photographer who recently chose to go back to school… and this girl is a riot! Gorgeous red hair, beautiful freckles, a fantastic personality, and a woman who loves her little family. Stephen, a school teacher, is a man who clearly adores his children, his life and is still madly in love with his wife. Zoey, their oldest daughter, was amazing. i could tell right off the bat was smart as a whip, and at the same time very loving. she had the most beautiful naturally curly long brown, olive colored skin and the biggest smile. Olivia, ( or liv, liva, livy  ) is their middle daughter, oh my did i love this one. She had such a uniqueness about her, and looks totally different than her big sis. Liv has straight blonde hair, rosy cheeks, bright blue eyes, and bright pink chipped off nail polish… lol. it was perfect. She started off a little quiet, just taking it all in… Then there was the little man, Drew ( emilys maiden name ) and let me tell you, he was one adored on little boy. He too has his own look, curly blondish hair, olive skin and big blue eyes. As the day went on i could see parts of drew in both his sisters, it was amazing cause none of them look a lot alike. With Drew, the one thing that stands out, is his box of “hookers”. Those little box’s  of fishing goodies were  in most of his photos hahah, that and his blankie ( he has a name for it, but cant for the life of me remember it.) The two  things i loved most about that day, one was that i met a new friend in Emily, and I’m blessed to have met her. Second, was i loved the way they all just let the day happen.. no pressure… no expectations… just a family at their cabin enjoying life and loving one another to pieces. Thank you Canfield family for letting me capture that small window into your world and what you hold dear.

the kids how i saw them…. ♥

and the reason….
